How we collect, use, and protect information when you use JSON to Excel.

Last updated: April 3, 2026

Overview

JSON to Excel ("we," "us," or "our") provides a web-based tool to convert JSON data into Excel-compatible files, along with related pages (help, legal, optional accounts or billing). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

The converter in your browser

When you use the on-page JSON to Excel conversion feature, parsing and spreadsheet generation for that action are designed to run in your browser. We do not use that same flow to permanently store your pasted or uploaded JSON content on our servers solely for the conversion step.

You should still avoid pasting highly sensitive secrets into any website unless you trust the environment and connection. Use offline tools for classified or regulated data when required by your organization.

Information we may collect

  • Account & auth: If you sign in (e.g. email, name, identifiers from an OAuth provider), we process data needed to operate your account.
  • Contact form: Name, email, subject, message, and category you submit.
  • Technical & usage: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and similar data via logs or analytics tools.
  • Billing: If you subscribe, payment details are handled by our payment processor (e.g. Stripe); we receive limited billing metadata as required to provide the service.

How we use information

  • Provide, secure, and improve the website and converter
  • Respond to support requests and legal inquiries
  • Process payments and subscriptions
  • Measure traffic and product usage (where enabled)
  • Comply with law and enforce our terms

Cookies & similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site operation, preferences, analytics, and (where applicable) marketing. See our Cookie Policy for types and controls.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers (hosting, email delivery, analytics, payments) who process it on our instructions, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Retention periods vary by data type (e.g. account lifetime vs. server logs).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority where applicable.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International transfers

We may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and adjust the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or a site notice where appropriate.
